HUMANITARIAN AID
CONVOY NEWS

Hope and Aid Direct currently take convoys of humanitarian aid to Kosovo twice a year, this is usually around Easter and again in September.

The volunteers spend the rest of the year fund raising and collecting all the required aid for these two regular convoys.

Other convoys of aid are arranged as and when required.

For example, when there were extensive floods in Romania Hope and Aid Direct took truck loads of humanitarian aid including tents and dry clothes to help some of the thousands of subsistence farmers who had lost everything.

Although the majority of the essential humanitarian aid we deliver is food and clothes, we usually make room for a few toys. Amongst the ones that get the biggest smiles are the very colourful, knitted clowns.

This complete set of Tradesmen Clowns from Jean Greenhowe's knitting pattern book were lovingly hand knitted and delivered to us recently by Cheryl Parkinson, all the way from Scotland. We think they are destined to bring quite a few smiles.

Hope and Aid Direct takes aid, not sides and take it where the need is greatest.
