A&S Print Services Ltd

A&S Print Services Ltd, in Hutton, Essex, has now generously agreed to provide our Truck Stickers. These stickers give us an identity, but more than that, they contribute to our safety whilst we are in-the-field by making us recognisable as deliverers of international humanitarian aid.  We are exceptionally grateful to them.

How you can help as a small team

A small team will find it a lot easier to raise the funds needed to take part in an aid convoy. Each truck that goes needs a crew of two or three drivers, and often these drivers have worked together to raise the funds to take part. Often the teams will either work for the same company, or drink in the same pub.

Each truck cots up to £4,000 to get to Kosovo and back again and this is best raised by sponsorship and/or active fundraising.

Most truck crews are made up of three drivers

Sponsorship

If a company wants to support your effort then support them in anyway you can. Allow them to put their logo on your truck and join them in any public relations work they want you to take part in. If it’s a success they may even offer more funds or they will be keen to support your next trip as well.

At Hope and Aid Direct we believe that it is important for our sponsors to get as much as they can out of their sponsorship as this does often lead to future support.

Fund raising

We all know there are millions of ways to raise funds (sponsored walks/runs/dances/abseils/ parachute jumps etc). But the more people that you get doing these events the better. A lot of small teams swell their ranks with volunteer fundraisers who are willing to raise aid for your truck, but for one reason or another cannot join you on the convoy.

There are a number of alternative ways that you can raise funds. For instance, I am in the middle of organizing a special showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and a ladies night with a fashion show by Ann Summers.

Get your company involved

If your group all work for the same company you will often find your employers are keen to get involved. It means more PR for them and most will see the benefit of someone organising fun events within the company to improve morale.

Again, help them in any PR work that they might want you to do. The more they are in the local paper, the more you and the Charity are also in the local paper.

Please email us if you are interested in helping.

After speaking to one of our team members your next step is downloading our handbook to see how you can help one of the UK's foremost humanitarian aid charities help the people of the former Balkan states. You'll need a password to do this, which you'll get from the contact you speak to.

When you have read the handbook you will be able to decide if you want to join us on a convoy or be part of the home based team, fundraising or publicising our work in your town, amongst family, friends and colleagues and collecting aid. We can provide you with publicity material.

Wish List

See what's on our wish list, and remember, all the goods you donate are delivered directly into the hands of those who need it most.

How you can help

No one involved in Hope and Aid Direct takes a salary, or charges for their time and many of our team do not claim back any expenses that they incur. Our volunteers give up their spare time to raise the funds needed to hire, fill and take trucks on the convoys and use up some of their precious annual leave to travel to the Balkans to distribute the aid.

Online donations

What makes it all worthwhile? Just take a look in the picture galleries, at the faces of some of the people who have been helped over the years.

Rotary Box Scheme

Our efforts are helped by the Rotary Clubs Emergency Box Scheme

When a disaster strikes, people need necessities like food, clothes, and a dry place to sleep. They need essential supplies, basic tools and some of the many things it takes to start the rebuilding of  their lives.

Rotary International offers this immediate aid requirement by providing their Emergency Boxes. These Emergency Boxes are available for both hot and cold climates with the contents lists specifically tailored by the Red Cross, each box providing vital aid for adults and children. Held in Rotary warehouses, boxes filled with essential provisions are stored ready for instant dispatch whenever required and provide immediate relief for the victims.
