A&S Print Services Ltd

A&S Print Services Ltd, in Hutton, Essex, has now generously agreed to provide our Truck Stickers. These stickers give us an identity, but more than that, they contribute to our safety whilst we are in-the-field by making us recognisable as deliverers of international humanitarian aid.  We are exceptionally grateful to them.

How you can help as a business

A major part of the aid raised by Hope and Aid Direct (HaAD) comes from corporations or their employees. If your company would like to raise funds or to help with the work of Hope and Aid Direct you will receive our full cooperation and support. One of our representatives will be in regular contact to give support and information.

Here are just a few of the ways that corporations can support the people of the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

Raise funds/aid

A lot of aid that Hope and Aid Direct comes from small teams from within a company which organises events such as nights out, day trips, raffles, competitions etc.

Benefits include team building, morale building and publicity. The amount of publicity raised depends on the imagination of those involved.

Sponsor a truck

A truck supplied by Cymru Self Drive Hire in action in the field

The average truck that we take out to the Balkans or Eastern Europe costs between £2,500 and £3,000 to rent, fuel, insure, tax and ferry across to the mainland. Each truck can carry several tons of aid and each one that leaves the UK will reach approximately 100 individual families whilst there.

Sponsoring a truck can be done as a one off payment from your business, funds raised by your employers or a combination of the two.

The benefits will include a good team building exercise for up to three people as they drive the truck across Europe and deliver the aid in person. Hope and Aid Direct will also help in any publicity that you require including photo shoots and press releases.

Sponsor a village

This village is made up of four to five houses and as a result does
not normally receive the full benefit of international aid.

Sponsoring a village is a new variation on town twining

Town twining was originally designed for a relatively well off town to help out its less well off twin town. This works well for towns, but there a large number of small villages and hamlets that have about three or four houses which get missed out.

Over 85% of the homes in Kosovo were destroyed or damaged by the conflicts. Every household is affected by the infrastructures destroyed in the wars (roads, bridges, poisoned water supplies, electricity, communications, etc).

Hope and Aid Direct have started a pioneering project of getting corporations to sponsor these small hamlets. This allows the corporation to concentrate the efforts on a small group of families and their needs. There is far more chance for hands on help, which is where Hope and Aid Direct specialise. We don't believe that when you give aid it should stop there, we give you the opportunity to deliver the aid yourself so you can see your aid in action.

Hope and Aid Direct will provide all the information that you require, including finding a village or hamlet best suited to your requirements and size.

As this would be an ongoing project there would also be ongoing publicity involved with fund raising events and trips out to help deliver the aid.

For more details of any of the above, please email us here.

After speaking to one of our team members your next step is downloading our handbook to see how you can help one of the UK's foremost humanitarian aid charities help the people of the former Balkan states. You'll need a password to do this, which you'll get from the contact you speak to.

When you have read the handbook you will be able to decide if you want to join us on a convoy or be part of the home based team, fundraising or publicising our work in your town, amongst family, friends and colleagues and collecting aid. We can provide you with publicity material.

Wish List

See what's on our wish list, and remember, all the goods you donate are delivered directly into the hands of those who need it most.

How you can help

No one involved in Hope and Aid Direct takes a salary, or charges for their time and many of our team do not claim back any expenses that they incur. Our volunteers give up their spare time to raise the funds needed to hire, fill and take trucks on the convoys and use up some of their precious annual leave to travel to the Balkans to distribute the aid.

Online donations

What makes it all worthwhile? Just take a look in the picture galleries, at the faces of some of the people who have been helped over the years.

Rotary International offers this immediate aid requirement by providing their Emergency Boxes. These Emergency Boxes are available for both hot and cold climates with the contents lists specifically tailored by the Red Cross, each box providing vital aid for adults and children. Held in Rotary warehouses, boxes filled with essential provisions are stored ready for instant dispatch whenever required and provide immediate relief for the victims.
