Wednesday meeting notes 25th Feb 09

Visited Stimlje

·        Went with Mirlinda and met up with KFOR - Rory McCorley, Seamus McArdle, Graham (electrician) and Plumber

·        Viewed Laundry and took photos, and chatted with Director

·        Old machines already removed apart from two that sort of work!

·        Tiles replaced and repaired -

·        Existing machines had broken water outlet pipes, which they did not replace, so water simply fell out of the back onto the tiled floor gulley and into the drain holes - danger of electrical shorts

·        3 Phase electrical supply is good and so is Fuse Board (professionally installed)

·        Only had 4 washing machines, and therefore a 5th 3 phase supply socket will need to be installed

·        Drains we are told, are good, but a 5th outlet will need to be dug into the drain.

·        They have only 60 guests, but do 3 washes per day of clothes per person (apparently) and also of sheets.

·        Calculated total capacity needed is 60 kg of washing per day - MAG (supplier) do not have 4 x 15 kg, but existing stock offer equates to 62 kg

·        Also visited Burim and checked out their separate washing facility - which is a room in the same building where he lives - uses a household single washing machine for 5 washes per day, plus sometimes at night

·        Room is small, and has a broken drier, and the washing machine is in a poor state

Plan and Actions:-

1.      To proceed with full replacement of main laundry machines - order confirmed by phone to MAG

2.      To replace and acquire household washing machine, and household dryer for Children’s house

3.      Rory to project manage electrical, plumbing, drainage preparations for installation of new machines when we arrive at Easter

4.      Rory to project manage purchase and supply of new household machines

5.      Rory to project manage production and completion of paperwork with Director and Ministry of Social Welfare to tie down maintenance contractual arrangements.

Funds of 1200 Euro given to Rory McCorley for above works and purchases, and further funds to be supplied via Bob Charmbury if required.
