A&S Print Services Ltd

A&S Print Services Ltd, in Hutton, Essex, has now generously agreed to provide our Truck Stickers. These stickers give us an identity, but more than that, they contribute to our safety whilst we are in-the-field by making us recognisable as deliverers of international humanitarian aid.  We are exceptionally grateful to them.

Our Wish List

The date has been set for the next convoy - Easter 2007. The heavy mob AKA the 40 tonners, depart on 28 March arriving back in the UK on 13 April. The light heavy weights, AKA the 7.5 tonners depart 29 March (subject to confirmation) and arrive back home on 13 April. The feather weights, AKA the airborne crew fly out to Kosovo on 4 April, arriving back on on 9 April 2007.

As always we rely on you, our supports for your continued support and we'd like to thank you for this. Without you we couldn't do what we do. This is our wish list for the Easter 2007convoy;

Specific requests for the Easter Convoy are:

 paper,paints,brushes, drawing materials

sewing machine, as sewing is also taught in the school

She's also still looking for the following items:

bullet

Medical equipment and supplies including, ophthalmoscope, stethoscope,  ECG machines with carts, inhalators, baby scales

bullet

computers

bullet

hygiene items such as soap

bullet

inkjet cartridges for a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 845c printer

bullet

A Spanish guitar for a very talented girl who won a competition this year in Kosovo

Bob Charmbury says that one thing that he would still like to get is Velcro and reflective tape for the road safety campaign or plastic reflectors that kids can hang on their school bags. Reflective paint for tractor trailers would also be very helpful.

As always, we always need:

Food - We can NEVER get enough food for our convoys, please make up a family food box, an apple or banana box from the supermarket is ideal. Fill this with dried food: rice, pasta, flour, sugar, salt, tinned baby food, packet soups, lentils and beans, porridge oats, tea, coffee and vegetable oil. We cannot accept meat or diary products because of border restrictions. We try to avoid tinned food (apart from baby food) as two thirds of the weight is taken up by the metal and water. Plus any NON PERISHABLE foods are welcome. Please fill the boxes completely so as not to waste an inch of space in our lorries and label clearly, indicating contents. If you would like to contribute please email someone in your area - Contact HaAD.

Musical instruments are sought - for the children's home, "Hope an Homes" - mainly pop type instruments, but please contact Charles Storer if 'anything' becomes available.

The above is a list of items that we would like to see on each convoy, if you can help with any of these items please email us marking your subject header as Wish List.

Wish List

How you can help

No one involved in Hope and Aid Direct takes a salary, or charges for their time and many of our team do not claim back any expenses that they incur. Our volunteers give up their spare time to raise the funds needed to hire, fill and take trucks on the convoys and use up some of their precious annual leave to travel to the Balkans to distribute the aid.

Online donations

What makes it all worthwhile? Just take a look in the picture galleries, at the faces of some of the people who have been helped over the years.

Do you think you have what it takes? If so, please click on "how you can help" to see what you can do.

Rotary Box Scheme

Our efforts are helped by the Rotary Clubs Emergency Box Scheme

When a disaster strikes, people need necessities like food, clothes, and a dry place to sleep. They need essential supplies, basic tools and some of the many things it takes to start the rebuilding of  their lives.

Rotary International offers this immediate aid requirement by providing their Emergency Boxes. These Emergency Boxes are available for both hot and cold climates with the contents lists specifically tailored by the Red Cross, each box providing vital aid for adults and children. Held in Rotary warehouses, boxes filled with essential provisions are stored ready for instant dispatch whenever required and provide immediate relief for the victims.
