A&S Print Services Ltd, in
Hutton, Essex, has now generously agreed to provide our Truck Stickers.
These stickers give us an identity, but more than that, they contribute
to our safety whilst we are in-the-field by making us recognisable as
deliverers of international humanitarian aid. We are exceptionally
grateful to them.

Hope and Homes for
Children Charity, Kosovo November 2005
She often requests bedding and coats for the children but like all
the aid workers, she will willing accept whatever she is given –
even the no-longer-needed curtains sent from Surrey homes which are
now an everyday part of these young peoples lives in Kosovo.
We have
sent many boxes of aid to Jacqui in Pristina who works for Hope and Homes
for Children and runs three small family homes for children in need of
protection. Two of these homes accommodate 10 children aged 3-18 who are
without parental care and who have suffered unimaginable trauma.
A third
project is a semi-independent living project for young adults and the only
one of its kind in Kosovo providing support to young adults without any
other safe place to go and who would be at further risk if they did not have
this option.
The aid
we have sent contains anything from curtains to nappies and food and
everything in-between. Jacqui supports her own children’s homes and many,
many other local families some of whom are Roma’s who have no other way to
sustain themselves.
As you
can see, your contributions have been put to good use. Thank you very much.

How
you can help
No one involved in Hope and
Aid Direct takes a salary, or charges for their time and many of our
team do not claim back any expenses that they incur. Our volunteers give
up their spare time to raise the funds needed to hire, fill and take
trucks on the convoys and use up some of their precious annual leave to
travel to the Balkans to distribute the aid. |

Rotary Box
Scheme
Our
efforts are helped by the Rotary Clubs Emergency Box Scheme
When a disaster strikes,
people need necessities
like food, clothes, and a dry place to sleep. They need essential
supplies, basic tools and some of the many things it takes to start the
rebuilding of their lives.
Rotary International offers
this immediate aid requirement by providing their Emergency Boxes. These
Emergency Boxes are available for both hot and cold climates with the
contents lists specifically tailored by the Red Cross, each box
providing vital aid for adults and
children. Held in
Rotary warehouses, boxes filled with essential provisions are stored
ready for instant dispatch whenever required and provide immediate
relief for the victims. |
